A Cloud Above is an AWS-focused consulting firm. Between the two of us that is more than 20 years working at AWS and more than 40 years in technology. Our backgrounds are in the core pieces everything else sits on:
We work primarily with nonprofits and small and medium businesses (SMBs) — the organizations that have traditionally been locked out of many consulting services, because the large firms need high minimum project sizes to cover their long sales funnel. We don't carry that overhead, so we don't require those same minimums.
We are US citizens and able to work on ITAR-restricted systems running in GovCloud accounts.
Our primary working hours are EST (US East Coast), and we can work with anyone whose day overlaps with that timezone — primarily the Americas, Africa, and western Europe.

Chris has over 25 years of IT experience and spent 12 years at AWS, where he was a Principal Cloud Support Engineer specializing in storage services such as EBS. He was a certified Subject Matter Expert in EBS and EC2. Before AWS he worked in sysadmin and jack-of-all-trades IT roles, running server deployments and fixing broken machines.
Shahad has over 15 years of IT experience and spent 9 years at AWS, where he was a Senior Cloud Support Engineer specializing in scalability. He was a certified Subject Matter Expert in the three Auto Scaling services, and Elastic Load Balancers (CLB/ALB). Before AWS he worked in IT support roles fixing computers, planning budgets, and working on way too many printers.
